A Flour Mill

Founded in the 19th century, the Bernaville flour mill processed grain for a few years before becoming a farmhouse. Now saved from destruction after two years of renovation, this historic site is preserved and open to visitors.

A Landing Site

The Bernaville Flour Mill was the scene of several significant events during the Normandy landings. Indeed, during the Allied parachute drops, many paratroopers fell near the mill. It was also here, at dawn on June 6, 1944, that German General Wilhelm Falley died. A few weeks later, a field airfield was established in the surrounding fields. For several months, pilots and soldiers shared the daily life of the locals. Come and discover the remains and the rich past of this unique site.

Marguerite & Beloved

Marguerite and Bienaimé have been running the La Minoterie farm since the early 1940s. Witnesses to the significant events of the D-Day landings in 1944, they raised their six children here and have seen this land go through the ages.

Over the years, Marguerite has always been keen to share her memories. She welcomed curious passersby, veterans, and anyone eager to discover local history.

Choosing this name is our way of perpetuating their memory and bringing the history of these places to life. It's also an invitation to discover an authentic place, full of stories, values, and emotions.
